Haven't taken photos of much other than the kids, kids' parties and family photos lately. Mostly because I've been ridiculously busy with one thing or another. So, I thought I'd take a look through my photos to see if I'd taken anything worth posting this past year. Here's one for starters...

Ghost Stories

Part of our Earth Hour celebration this year included the telling of ghost stories while making your face look really scary by flashlight. We had such a fun-filled evening, we're thinking of celebrating Earth Hour on a more regular basis... maybe even monthly.

Fun with Angles

Nice thing about my new Canon S90 point & shoot camera is that it's always around. I don't think I would have gone to the trouble to take a photo like this with my dSLR. I just happened to be in the kitchen getting dinner ready when I glanced down the hallway, noticed a ray of sunlight bouncing off the washroom door, grabbed my little camera and took this picture.

Another thing this little camera with the teeny tiny sensor has done is broken my fear and loathing of noise. It produces such pretty noise that it gets me nostalgic for my old days of shooting film. Some people go to great lengths to add grain effects like this to enhance their beautifully crisp, low noise images... I now get mine for free!

People throughout time have been told, "Don't play with your food!"... Well apparently, this never applied to my lovely wife. Here she is playing with some nice fresh swiss chard that we got in our weekly produce order from Mama Earth Organics... Deeeelicious!

What a nice way to end a week of beautiful spring-like weather... out on the deck barbecuing up a mess of ribs, sampling a fine local brew, and playing with my latest photographic toy, a shiny new Canon S90! I just got it today and I've only taken a couple dozen shots but so far I like what I see. It's wonderful to have a camera handy on one's person and be able to take a quick photo of whatever catches your eye.

Just a quick post of a photo from a trip to the Toronto Zoo in January. They've built a wonderful new polar bear habitat which during our first visit of the year had no snow to speak of. It's looking much better now.
